I found my fiancé planning a wedding with another woman in our favorite coffee shop.

The smell of roasted coffee beans always made me feel safe.

It was our spot.

The place where we had our first date, where he nervously proposed, and where we’d spent countless hours dreaming up our future.

Our wedding was just three months away.

Every detail was planned, every vendor booked, every dream etched into my heart.

I was floating on a cloud of pure, unadulterated happiness.

He’d been a little distant lately, stressed with work, he said.

Late nights at the office, urgent calls, always busy.

I didn’t question it.

I trusted him implicitly.

He was my rock, my soulmate, the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with.

Today, I had planned a surprise.

He loved their seasonal caramel latte, and I thought I’d bring one to his office.

I found my fiancé planning a wedding with another woman in our favorite coffee shop.

A little gesture, a reminder of our love amidst the pre-wedding chaos.

I walked into "The Daily Grind" with a skip in my step, the familiar warmth of the place embracing me.

My eyes scanned the room, looking for faces I knew, feeling that comfort.

And then I saw him.

Sitting at our usual corner booth, the one by the big window overlooking Main Street.

He wasn't alone.

A woman was sitting across from him, her hand casually resting on his.

My breath caught in my throat.

Confusion, then a cold, creeping dread, started to snake its way through my veins.

She was laughing, a bright, tinkling sound, and he was smiling back at her, that deep, crinkly-eyed smile he reserved just for me.

My body froze, rooted to the spot near the pastry counter.

I couldn’t move, couldn’t breathe, my mind racing, trying to make sense of what I was seeing.

Then, I saw it.

A thick, glossy binder open on the table between them.

My eyes, against my will, focused on the words emblazoned across the top: "Wedding Planner."

My vision tunneled.

My ears started ringing.

It wasn't just a casual meeting.

It wasn't a work colleague.

His hand reached for hers again, squeezing it gently, his gaze soft and intimate.

The kind of intimacy that used to be only ours.

A wave of nausea washed over me, so potent I thought I might collapse right there on the polished concrete floor.

My heart felt like it had been physically ripped from my chest, leaving a gaping, bloody hole.

I wanted to scream, to run, to demand answers.

But no sound came out.
