I walked in on my fiancée and my best man... the night before our wedding.

The week leading up to my wedding was a whirlwind of pure joy.

Every detail was perfect, every moment filled with laughter.

Sarah, my fiancée, was radiant, buzzing with excitement.

Mark, my best man and closest friend since childhood, was always there, cracking jokes, helping with last-minute errands.

They were both such an integral part of my happiness, my chosen family.

We had the rehearsal dinner that Friday night.

It was a beautiful evening, full of toasts and good wishes.

Everyone left feeling a little tipsy and a lot sentimental.

I told Sarah I'd meet her back at the hotel suite after I helped Mark gather some of the leftover decorations from the venue.

He insisted, saying it was the least he could do for his "brother."

I remember smiling, feeling so lucky to have him in my life.

The venue was just a few blocks from the hotel.

We were joking around, Mark teasing me about my nervous pacing.

We finished up faster than expected.

I walked in on my fiancée and my best man... the night before our wedding.

It was still early, maybe 11:30 PM.

I decided to head back to the hotel, eager to see Sarah.

I wanted to tell her one more time how much I loved her before we woke up as husband and wife.

The hotel lobby was quiet, almost eerily so.

I took the elevator up to our floor, my heart fluttering with anticipation.

As I walked down the long corridor, I noticed the door to our suite was slightly ajar.

A sliver of light escaped into the dim hallway.

I thought maybe Sarah had forgotten to close it properly, or perhaps she was just getting ready for bed.

A faint sound, a muffled giggle, reached my ears.

It wasn't Sarah's usual laugh.

It was deeper, rougher.

A knot formed in my stomach, cold and heavy.

I pushed the door open just a little wider, peeking inside.

The first thing I saw was a discarded tie on the floor, Mark's tie from the rehearsal dinner.

My blood ran cold.

Then I saw them.

They were tangled together on the sofa, half-dressed, oblivious.

Sarah.

And Mark.

My world didn't just stop; it shattered into a million irreparable pieces.

The air left my lungs in a sharp, painful gasp.

I could feel the scream building in my throat, but it never escaped.

My mind couldn't process what my eyes were seeing.

It was like watching a movie, a nightmare playing out in slow motion.

Sarah's head snapped up, her eyes wide with terror.

Mark jolted, looking directly at me, his face a mask of sick realization.

Their expressions were etched with guilt and fear, reflecting the horror that was consuming me.
