Just hours before giving birth, I found my husband in bed with my own sister.

The day started like any other, but I knew it wouldn't end that way.

My water had broken just after midnight, a gentle gush that promised the world was about to change.

I was 39 weeks pregnant, swollen and uncomfortable, but vibrating with a joy that pulsed through every nerve.

Mark, my husband, had been a nervous wreck for weeks, but today he seemed calm, almost too calm.

My sister, Sarah, had insisted on being there, bustling around my apartment with an energy I couldn't match.

She was my best friend, my rock, always there for me, especially now.

Contractions were getting stronger now, waves of pain rolling through me, demanding my full attention.

We’d practiced our breathing exercises a hundred times, but nothing really prepares you for the real thing.

Mark said he was just running out for some last-minute baby supplies, a final check on the car seat.

He kissed my forehead, told me he loved me, and promised to be back in twenty minutes, then slipped out.

Sarah had offered to get me a fresh glass of water, disappearing into the back of the apartment, near the bedroom.

Just hours before giving birth, I found my husband in bed with my own sister.

A strange silence settled over the living room, broken only by my shaky breaths and the ticking clock.

I closed my eyes, trying to focus on the rhythm of my body, the promise of our baby.

Suddenly, a sharper pain gripped me, a contraction so intense it brought tears to my eyes.

I needed Mark, needed his hand to squeeze, needed his whispered encouragement.

Dragging myself up, I started slowly towards our bedroom, hoping he’d returned, maybe resting for a moment.

A faint murmur reached my ears, then a low laugh, too intimate for the circumstances.

My heart began to pound a frantic rhythm against my ribs, an uncomfortable premonition stirring within me.

The bedroom door was slightly ajar, casting a sliver of light onto the hallway carpet.

I pushed it open just enough to peer inside, my breath catching in my throat.

There, on our bed, was Mark.

And tangled with him, in an embrace that stole the air from my lungs, was Sarah.

The world tilted, colors drained, and a cold dread seeped into my very bones.

My vision blurred, but their horrified faces were etched into my mind forever.

They looked up simultaneously, their eyes wide with a mixture of terror and shame.

Mark stumbled back, scrambling to cover himself, his face pale and contorted.

Sarah pulled the sheet tighter, her face a mask of utter devastation, yet still caught in the act.

A guttural scream tore from my throat, raw and agonizing, filled with a pain far deeper than any contraction.

"How could you?!" I shrieked, my voice cracking, barely recognizable as my own.

Suddenly, a sharper, more intense contraction ripped through my body, bringing me to my knees.

The physical pain was unbearable, a searing fire that mirrored the betrayal burning within me.

I clutched my belly, gasping for air, the world spinning in a vortex of red and black.

Mark rushed towards me, his hand outstretched, but I recoiled as if burned.

"Don't touch me!" I choked out, tears streaming down my face, blurring their figures into monstrous shapes.
